Vessels that switched off AIS near the Strait of Hormuz — transponder gaps that often flag sanctioned-oil cargoes or ship-to-ship transfers — detected from our position history.

Over the last 14 days our AIS-gap detector flagged 52 vessels that switched off their transponders near the Strait of Hormuz, of which 1 are oil tankers. Of these, 0 went dark on one side of the strait and reappeared on the opposite side — a covert transit consistent with shadow-fleet sanctions evasion — while 52 remain dark and 0 resurfaced on the same side.
